A few days ago one of my flatmates proudly told me how last year she ‘occupied’ Topshop on Oxford Street and sat around in a shop all day to protest the fact that they don’t pay taxes. Fair enough, but as she was telling me this I couldn’t help that notice she was wearing an eighty quid pair of Topshop trousers.
And really, what did they think they were achieving? All they really did was stress out a load of teenage shop assistants who probably had no idea what was going on or what to do. And did it change anything? Arcadia still don’t pay taxes. Nice one.
The Occupy London protestors piss me off more everyday. Would it not be a better idea to spend your time actually making a difference by volunteering in a soup kitchen or something? Or at least offering a solution to what you are protesting. Most of them don’t even know what the fuck they are talking about, they just want an excuse to be angry. Which makes me angry. GRR
